1977 Rolex GMT Master 1675 "Pepsi" Mk IV Dial - $18,499

The Rolex GMT-Master ref. 1675 stands among the most important and enduring sports watches ever produced by Rolex. Introduced in the 1950s in collaboration with Pan American Airways, the model was designed to allow pilots and international travelers to track multiple time zones simultaneously. Today, the reference remains a cornerstone of vintage Rolex collecting, celebrated for its lengthy production run and the subtle variations that distinguish each era. This attractive example dates to approximately 1977, as indicated by its 5.2 million serial number. It features a desirable matte black Mk IV dial with tritium hour markers and matching tritium hands, all of which have aged to a beautiful light cream patina with minor pitting, a characteristic often seen on examples from this era. Surrounding the dial is a period-correct red and blue bidirectional aluminum "Red Back" bezel insert, one of the defining visual signatures of the reference.

The watch is housed in the classic 40mm stainless steel Oyster case and retains its original acrylic crystal with Cyclops date magnification. Powering the watch is the Rolex Calibre 1575 GMT automatic movement, the final evolution of Rolex's non-independent GMT caliber, renowned for its durability and reliability. Completing the watch is its original Rolex 7836 folded-link Oyster bracelet with 380 end links, a "B" clasp code dating to approximately 1977, and 11 links, all of which further enhance the originality and collectability of this exceptionally well-preserved example. This timepiece remains in very nice condition for its age, with light superficial scratching throughout the case and bracelet consistent with careful ownership and decades of normal use. Displaying the honest character and vintage patina that collectors seek, this 1675 represents an exceptional opportunity to acquire one of Rolex's most iconic and historically significant tool watches.
