1971 Rolex Submariner 5512 Matte Dial - $21,999

A cornerstone of vintage Rolex collecting, the Submariner Ref. 5512 represents one of the most historically significant references in the model's evolution. We are pleased to offer this well preserved example, bearing a 2.79 million serial number dating production to circa 1971. Crafted in stainless steel, its 40mm case is among the earliest generations of Submariners fitted with crown guards, marking a pivotal milestone in Rolex's legendary dive watch lineage.

The previously polished case presents beautifully and remains in nice vintage condition with superficial scratching throughout the case and bracelet. The matte black dial showcases warm, buttery tritium patina, while the black bezel insert has gracefully faded to an attractive soft gray, giving the watch the honest character collectors prize. Completing the package is its original 9315 fold-link Oyster bracelet with 380 end links, 11 links, a dive extension, and a "C" date-stamped clasp dating to approximately 1978. Highly sought after by collectors for its historical significance and enduring design, this Ref. 5512 is an exceptional vintage Submariner and a standout addition to any serious Rolex collection.
